circa 1889 The two peninsulas that bounded Skwácháy̓s [False Creek East) looking north from what is today Broadway in the months before the completion of the bridge that was to become Westminster and today is Main Street.

This is probably one of the last archival images available showing the strait between the two peninsulas, roughly south of today’s Thornton Park, where small vessels and larger vertebrates could travel freely.
